MHD trial: the 28-year-old rapper appears before the assizes from this Monday

The murder of Loïc Kamtchouang, 23, in July 2018, for which the rapper MHD appears in court from this Monday with eight other accused, is part of a long history of rivalries between two neighboring districts in the north-east of Paris: the Grange-aux-Belles and the Red City.

On the night of July 5 to 6, 2018, Loïc K, aged 23, died after being hit by a car. Just before his death, he was stabbed several times. Witnesses at the scene said the rapper was involved.

In 2021, MHD's lawyers, Elise Arfi and Antoine Vey, announced the decision to refer the artist to court in the columns of Le Parisien: “The investigating judge in charge of the investigation (…) has in fact signed This Wednesday an indictment order sends him back to the assizes of eight men including MHD, in accordance with the requisitions of the Paris prosecutor's office. It is this Monday, September 4 that the trial of the rapper and his seven alleged accomplices opens and will last until September 22, the date on which MHD could be sentenced to 30 years in prison.
