A Ligue 2 club soon in the hands of Aliko Dangote

According to the French press, the richest man in Africa plans to buy the French club Valenciennes.

According to the Entreprendre.fr site, the 66-year-old Nigerian tycoon, whose fortune is estimated at 12,2 billion euros, plans to buy Valenciennes, currently ranked 15th in Ligue 2 and in financial difficulty. The club's current president, Eddy Zdziech, owns 60% of the shares and has put the club up for sale.

According to the same source, Aliko Dangote wants to buy the entire capital of the club to invest in infrastructure and recruitment, with the aim of making Valenciennes one of the biggest European clubs in the years to come. The amount of the acquisition is estimated at 10 million euros, a sum that should not cause financial problems for Dangote.

If Aliko Dangote succeeds in buying the French club, he could inject a lot of money into the Hauts-de-France club to make them a major player in European football in the years to come.
