Youssou Ndour, Fela Kuti and Burna Boy among the 200 greatest singers of all time according to Rolling Stones magazine

Rolling Stone magazine recently released its list of the 200 greatest singers of all time. Legendary singer Aretha Franklin, affectionately known as the “Queen of Soul,” topped the list, with Whitney Houston coming second. Billie Holiday, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé were also in the top 10.

As always happens with such lists, many netizens were outraged. In particular, fans of singers like Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber and others who weren't included are venting their anger online. Even fans of singers like Michael Jackson, who was included but at No. 86, weren't kind to this ranking.

The list records 4 Africans and not the least, namely, the South African Diva Miriam Makeba (53rd), the Senegalese star Youssou Ndour (69th), the King of Afrobeat Fela Kuti (188th) and Burna Boy (197th).

Here is the list of the top 10:

1. Aretha Franklin

2. Whitney Houston

3. Sam Cooke

4. Billy Holiday

5. Mariah Carey

6. Ray Charles

7. Stevie Wonder

8. Beyonce

9. Otis Redding

10. Al Green
