Angelique Kidjo, Burna Boy, Tems and More Grammy Nominated African Artists

The nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards have been announced and African stars Tems, Burna Boy, and Angélique Kidjo are all in the running.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems has been nominated for her songwriting on Beyonce's Renaissance album and for the song "Wait For U” by rapper Drake, who is nominated for record of the year.

Burna Boy picked up his third consecutive Grammy nomination for Best World Music Performance and is also nominated for his album Love, Damini.

Beninese superstar Angélique Kidjo was also nominated for several awards, including Best World Music Album, making it now her twelfth Grammy nomination.

Eddie Kenzo from Uganda, Rocky dawuni from Ghana, Wouter Kellermann, Zakes Bantwini et Nomcebo Zikode from South Africa and Burna Boy are all vying for World's Best Music Performance.

The 65th annual awards show will take place on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will be exciting to see all the winners from across the continent and how their hard work has paid off.

Last year, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, Femi Kuti, Made Kuti, Angélique Kidjo, Rocky Dawuni and Black Coffee were the African nominees.
