After "Mignonnes", the second feature film by director Maïmouna Doucouré entitled "Hawa" will be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video on December 9th.
The cast of this film celebrating the power of self-determination over a teenager seeking to meet Michelle Obama” includes Sania Halifa, Oumou Sangare et yseult.
Written by the director, the screenplay centers on Hawa, a 15-year-old girl who goes in search of a new guardian when her grandmother, with whom she lives, falls seriously ill. The day she learns that an international star is traveling to France, she embarks on an impossible quest to convince her to adopt him.
Doucouré subtly alternates between viewing events through Hawa's inner world and directing a pensive gaze at a young woman's daring quest for a home and a sense of belonging.
