Montreal Impact head coach Thierry Henry had promised to make a strong gesture within the framework of the “Black Lives Matter” movement and he did so on Thursday evening.
The Impact Montreal was back on the green carpet, as part of the North American Football League (MLS) championship.
In the first minutes of the match, Wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt, Thierry Henry knelt for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, a duration that has become a symbol of police violence, in tribute to George Floyd, suffocated by a white police officer in Minneapolis on May 25.
