Black Out Tuesday: The music industry on hiatus to demonstrate against police blunders!

Record labels, musicians and other celebrities have pledged to take a break today (June 2), through Black Out Tuesday.

It is actually a protest movement. This movement is in solidarity with the black community, bruised for years, with the injustices that are repeated.

This action was sparked by the #TheShowMustBePaused movement, which began with posts shared by Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang of Atlantic Records explaining that the initiative is “in response to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and 'countless other black citizens at the hands of the police. ”.

Sony, Blue Note and Warner Music will abstain from all activity, as part of a Black Out Tuesday in memory of George Floyd and to protest against police violence against black Americans. Another record company, Capitol Records, has decided to donate to Color of Change, a civil rights organization based in Oackland.

Spotify will include 8-minute and 46-second silences - the length of which Police Officer Derek Chauvin stuck his knee against George Floyd's neck - in some of its playlists.
