Les BET Awards récompensent Mary J. Blige, Nipsey Hussle et Tyler Perry.

The show, which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, was owned by artists considered icons of the black community, including singer Mary J Blige, filmmaker Tyler Perry and the late rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Hussle, a respected and beloved community activist in South Los Angeles, shot and killed on March 31, posthumously won the Humanitarian Award on Sunday night.

Lifetime Achievement Award winner Mary J. Blige for Lifetime Achievement went through her hits in a lengthy performance starring Lil Kim and Method Man.

The audience also applauded media mogul, Tyler Perry, who won the Ultimate Icon Award, presented by Taraji P. Henson.

“When I built my workshop, I built it in one of the blackest neighborhoods in Atlanta, so young black kids could see a black man did it and they can. too, ”Perry said.
