Focus: Conakry the new hub of African Showbiz

Conakry, capital of the Republic of Guinea, has recently become a hub of African showbiz. A place where artists from all over the world come together with one of the most important music-loving audiences in the world.

Production structures flourish there from day to day. The country that gave the chance to artists like Salif Keita , Miriam Makeba , or Kofi Olomide takes its place on the page of African showbiz. The productions Tidiane World Music (TWM) still in business for over 20 years, are among the pioneers in the field. In recent years other production houses, such as Benedi records, MLP Boss, RnB Boss, Music, Rarili Production, Ms Com, Cis Com or even North South Communication fight to fight their way through the middle despite the ambushes.

The capital has welcomed in its last years a host of international artists. The mythical group cassava, the group Aragon,es Magic System, Salif Keita, Mr Leo, Black M , MHD, Maitre Gims, Davido, Tekno Miles, Booba, Locko, Serge Beynaud, Chidima, Daphné, Dadju, the Extra Musica Group, Koffi Olomidé, Fally Ipupa, Sidiki Diabaté, Zao, Eddy Kenzo, Kiff No Beat, Francko and so many others have set foot on Guinean soil in the last two years.

A public always at the rendezvous !!!
Guinean audiences are among the most music lovers in the whole world. Despite the economic situation, they are ready to spend a fortune to see their idols on stage. The confidences of certain artists would put them in the top position of the best public. After studies, they would be on average 60.000 people to come to the concert, and can very quickly reach the record 80.000 people broken at the concert of Tekno Miles.

Local artists are on the rise !!!
The Guinean show biz sees the birth of many talented artists, and on the way to prosper. The oldest, the famous groups of the Capital like the Degg J force 3 on European tour and the Sila Mafia International (formerly Silatigui) are resurfacing.
