The young Ivorian rapper Mc One paid vibrant tribute to little Bouba who was murdered and then drained of his blood. The little Traoré Aboubakar Sidick commonly known as Bouba was kidnapped from his parents' home in Williamsville on Saturday February 24, 2018 by a man named Sagno Etienne. The latter is a jeweler who had his shop just down the building where the parents of the victim lived. The assassin, who knew the family well, abducted the child, strangled him and then slit his throat before burying him in brushwood, near the Chu d'Angré-Djorobité in Cocody. After fruitless searches by the police, Sagno Etienne was arrested because he was the last person seen with the little boy. He confessed his crime once at the police station. He states that he committed the crime because a marabout promised him wealth if he shed human blood. Still in his interrogation, Sagno cites the names of two accomplices, including an authority. Investigations are still ongoing.

All of Côte d'Ivoire is outraged by the affair, tributes come from everywhere and denunciations fill the web. Like many Ivorian artists, Mc One paid tribute to Petit Bouba in a single with very strong lyrics: "Petit Bouba is the pride of his father and his mother, lives day to day, but does not know that life is very bitter, that everything can change from one minute to another. Life is a choice but, in some cases life chooses for ourselves (…), let us be aware and do good deeds to ensure our landing because life is a flight and death is a crash. Bouba, Petit Bouba, I know that from where you are, everything is fine…”

It should be noted that this practice of child abduction is widespread in Côte d'Ivoire. The latter pushed the authorities to take strong measures to eradicate this practice.
